“Work-n-Wheels” Programs Puts Cars in Hands of the Poor

The need for reliable and inexpensive transportation poses a problem for many working poor, particularly in rural areas. The “Work-n-Wheels” program in Wisconsin is helping to meet that need by providing interest-free loans to people who wouldn’t otherwise qualify for loans from institutional lenders, along with counseling and other budgeting assistance.
